OU CPD Pathfinder — a guided short-course journey
Open University · Short courses & CPD

Find the courses that
get you where you're going.

Tell us your goal, your role and the time you have. We'll map a short, ordered route through OU short courses — and show the certified CPD you'll earn along the way.

What you'll earn

Every course leaves you with something you can hold.

Complete a course and you earn certified CPD — a certificate stating the points, a digital badge, and a Statement of Participation you can log with your professional body. When you're ready to go further, the same subjects lead into credit-bearing study.

Find your route below: pick a goal and you'll see the courses in order, the certificate you'd earn, and where it can lead next.

The Pathfinder

Three questions. One route.

Tell us the goal, the role and the time on offer. We'll assemble a route from real OU short courses and show where it leads.

01 · Goal

What are you trying to do?

02 · Role

Where are you now?

03 · Time

How much time?

Your CPD log

Keep a running tally you can take to an appraisal.

Tick the courses you've completed and the log totals the CPD points for the year. It's a record you assemble yourself — the proof of each course is the certificate the OU issues on completion.

Self-reported — not an official OU record. This tally is stored only in this browser and is declared by you. A verified, account-bound balance would need a sign-in to OU systems.

Ready to begin?

Every route here links to the live course pages at open.ac.uk, where you can check exact study time, fees and start dates, and enrol.

Course codes and links point to the live OU catalogue. CPD point figures shown here are illustrative, following the OU's CPDSO-accredited model; each course page carries its own exact study time. Short courses certify CPD but are not credit-bearing — academic credit is carried by microcredentials. This guide is a prototype, not an official OU product.
